1 ½ kg beef ribs
50 ml soy sauce
FOR THE MARINADE
2 cups of any Sweet Smokey Barbeque Sauce
1 onion (peeled and chopped)
2 garlic cloves (peeled and finely chopped)
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp mustard
Black pepper (freshly ground)
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp tomato sauce
Place the ribs in a saucepan and add water and soy sauce, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
Simmer for 15 minutes, then remove the pan from the heat and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Make the marinade by mixing all the ingredients together. Simmer for a few minutes and pour in a
bowl and leave it to cool.
Remove the ribs from the saucepan and brush all over with the marinade.
Place the ribs in a tray and refrigerate overnight or a minimum of 3 hours.
Get the BBQ ready and when the coals have died down but are still glowing, lay the ribs curved side
down on the grill. Cook until coloured then turn, brush with more marinade and cook for 5 minutes.
Turn, brush again and keep on cooking for about 30 minutes.
